The tides in the Grado Lagoon

It’s magic. Day after day, the moon and its powerful forces conjure up a special spectacle for you on our beach. Sometimes the lagoon fills with sparkling blue water and lets you splash about and swim in the gently sloping coastline, sometimes the sea retreats and the Adriatic tidal flats expose all their treasures: Seashells, seaweed, crabs… At low tide, the Grado Lagoon is a paradise of discovery for nature explorers of all ages. You are welcome to hire wellies, buckets and nets at our kite bar and head out on an expedition on the tidal flat beach. And after the moon has driven the sea back into the lagoon, it’s time to marvel at the treasures you’ve found. Look at this seashell – how beautifully it shimmers!
